History of Computer

 


  • For centuries people (3000 B.C) used the earliest calculating Device Abacus also called as counting frame (device) is a bamboo frame with beads moving on threads for calculations. It has a two part heaven and earth.
  • First Time "Computer" Word used in 1613.
  • John Napier, a Scottish Mathematician found 'Logrithm Table' in 1614.
  • John Napier, a Scottish mathematician and physicist designed 'Napier's Bones', an abacus like device used for calculations including multiplication and division. "Napier's bone" was based on logarithm table.
  • William Oughtred Designed the Slide Rule in 1621.
  • William Oughtred created the Modern Slide Rule in 1630.  
  • Blaise Pascal Designed the first Mechanical Calculator for adding numbers entered with dials. That is also called Pascaline. 1642
  • Gotfried Wilhelm von Leibniz started working on 'Stepped Gear Mechanism' from 1671 and completed
